Commissioning Of Missionaries For The Mission Of God

Happy Lord's Day to you friends! Today is a sweet day for us at Corinth. We get the honor of sending two of our own to the mission field. This family has blessed us with their gifts and talents and we want to partner with them. As they go our hearts go with them.

 

In our sermon today we will be in Acts 13:1-3. Here we will see four truths about sending out missionaries for the mission of God. Friends we should be a people who are about going and sending to make disciples of the nations. This great mission grips all of us who belong to Christ. Let us be led by the Spirit and send those who are equipped and called to reach the nations with the love of Christ

The Great Transformation That Love Brought To Us

Happy Lord's Day friends! We hope that you had a blessed Easter season. Today Dr. Abernethy will be continuing our series through the book of Ephesians. We will be in Ephesians 2:1-10 and we will see the wonderful transformation that God has wrought for those who put their faith in Christ. Indeed we were dead in our trespasses and sins but have now been made alive in Christ. Having been born again in Christ we now walk in the good works that God has prepared beforehand for us.

The Good News Of Easter Pt II

Happy Easter Friends! He is risen! Not even the grave can overcome the Lord Jesus. We celebrate his resurrection. 

 

Last week we saw that the death of Jesus paid the price for our sin, the burial of Jesus proved that his death was real. This week we will see that the resurrection of Jesus secures our hope of eternal life. We will be in Luke 24 and 1 Corinthians 15

God Is Sovereign Forever And Always

Good day friends! We hope that this finds you well. We have come to the end of the book of Daniel. We have enjoyed studying Daniel and we hope that you have as well. Here in chapter 12 we will bring the prophecy to an end that began in chapter 11. Historically the prophecy brings us to the very end of the age and deals with end time issues.

 

We don't know exactly what is to come, but friends, we know that God will settle accounts with everyone. Those who are written in the Lamb's book of life shall be ushered into eternal life. But those who act wickedly will be cast into everlasting shame and contempt. We urge you therefore to know God and believe in the gospel. That you too may join with the Lord at the consummation of the ages.

God Is Sovereign Even Over His Enemies

Happy Lord's Day to you friends! This morning we continue in our study through the book of Daniel and chapter 11:20-45. Today we will continue to see the kings of the Seleucid and Ptolemaic empires acting against one another. The king of the Seleucids will strike the nation of Israel and act as the prototype of the Antichrist. We will also see the prophecy move forward beyond our modern times to look forward to that very same Antichrist. 

 

It is this Antichrist who will exalt himself very highly and in doing so will usher in the time of the end. The time of judgment on the nations and ultimately the time for Christ to come. Upon Christ's arrival the Antichrist will be struck down and the true and heavenly kingdom will be brought to Earth.

God Is Sovereign Over The Nations

We pick up in the middle of Daniel's prophetic conversation with an angel. Over the course of this conversation we see God revealing in striking detail events that are to unfold. In posterity we can survey history and see this prophecy play out many decades after it was given. Once again we see God's sovereignty in the book of Daniel. We see that God's knows the course of human history before it begins.
